Important Registration Update

Due to the expected high volume of registrations we are staggering registration to avoid a system malfunction.

All schools with the exception of the following will open on Monday February 20th during the day.

Christ the Teacher registration will open noon on Tuesday the 21st

Forwood and NorthStar registration will open noon on Wednesday the 22nd

St Anne’s Episcopal, Ursuline and Linden Hill will open noon on Thursday the 23rd

Girls on the Run secures Bank of America Chicago Entrees

The 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon registration is officially sold out! Girls on the Run has secured a limited number of post-close bonus entries into the Sunday, October 7 event. All entries will be available to any runner and carry a $750 fundraising minimum, per the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Charity Program Requirements. These entries will go quickly!

Runners with post-close bonus entries will be able to fundraise for any council of their choice.

All post-close bonus entry runners will receive the following benefits:

Girls on the Run Delaware ventures to Southern Delaware in Fall 2012

A group of volunteers met with the Girls on the Run Delaware Staff and Co-Chair of the Board, Mike Monagle recently at Abbotts Grill in Milford Delaware to discuss how to launch teams in Kent and Sussex Counties. The goal is to have 4-6 teams up and “running” by Fall 2012.

Girls on the Run Delaware receives $10,000

The Next Generation Group of the Delaware Community Foundation granted Girls on the Run Delaware $10,000. “TNG” have been supporting GOTR Delaware the past 3 years. becoming involved with
TNG’s main focus this year is childhood obesity.

“The Next Generation of the Delaware Community Foundation felt that it was vital that
we pledge our support specifically to local agencies promoting wellness, education, and
physical activity,” stated TNG’s president Mark Lucey. “According to ygoy.com, almost
60% of children in America are obese children. Studies also reveal the fact that 40% of
obese children and 70% of obese adolescents become obese adults. That’s a cycle that
we need to work to end.” As a result of TNG’s efforts, five nonprofit organizations will
now be able to offer out-of-school programs like physical fitness and nutrition.
